Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring
Luxury vinyl plank — LVP for short — is the floor we install most in Summerfield, FL. It is waterproof, it goes down over a concrete slab, and it holds up to a dog's nails and to furniture that gets pushed around.
Installed from $3.99 per square foot, with removal and haul-away of your old carpet, laminate or vinyl already in the price.
LVP is a floating floor, so in a lot of Summerfield homes it can go straight over existing ceramic tile if the tile is sound, clean and flat. If it is loose, cracked or uneven, it comes out first — and we tell you that at the measurement, not on installation day.
Price includes material and installation, plus removal and disposal of existing carpet, laminate or vinyl. Ceramic tile removal is not included. Final price confirmed after the free in-home measurement.
The Luxury Vinyl Plank We Stock
We describe every floor the same way — by thickness, wear layer and plank size.
The three below are this month's promotion colors, photographed in the same kitchen so you can compare them:
5.5 mm · 20 mil
The thinnest of the three promotion specs, and the one the $3.99 installed price starts from.
- 100% waterproof
- 20 mil wear layer
- 6 colors
6.0 mm · 20 mil · 9" x 60"
The same 20 mil wear layer in a longer, wider plank, so a big room shows fewer seams.
- 100% waterproof
- 9" x 60" plank
- 5 colors
8.0 mm · 22 mil · 9" x 60"
The thickest promotion plank, and the only one with a 22 mil wear layer.
- 100% waterproof
- 22 mil wear layer
- 9 colors
The full range we stock, promotion colors included:
- 5.0 mm · 20 mil wear layer · 48" x 7.09" plank — 36 colors
- 5.5 mm · 20 mil wear layer · 48" x 7.16" plank, plus a 24" x 12" stone look — 16 colors
- 6.5 mm · 20 mil wear layer · 60" x 9.05" plank — 8 colors
- 8.0 mm rigid core · 20 mil wear layer · 59.84" x 7.09" plank — 8 colors
- Promotion colors: 5.5 mm and 6.0 mm at 20 mil, and 8.0 mm at 22 mil — 20 colors
The number that matters most is the wear layer. That is the clear top layer that takes the scratches. Most retail vinyl plank is 12 mil. Everything we install is 20 mil or 22 mil. On a floor you plan to keep for twenty years, that difference is the whole ballgame.
Laminate Flooring
Laminate is the lower-cost wood look. We install 12 mm laminate, AC3 rated, in a 47.83" x 7.67" plank, in 6 colors. AC3 is the abrasion rating for normal residential traffic — hallways, bedrooms, living rooms.
Laminate is water-resistant. It is not waterproof. The core is high-density fiberboard. It will shrug off a spilled glass of water that you wipe up. It will not survive a dishwasher line that runs overnight — the core swells and the plank has to be replaced. Anyone who tells you they sell waterproof laminate is selling you the wrong word.
That is why we walk through the house room by room with you. Laminate is a good, honest floor in a bedroom, a den or a closed office. In a Florida home where the same floor runs from the entry through the kitchen and into the lanai door, we usually steer you to waterproof vinyl plank instead.
Old floor removal is included with laminate the same way it is with LVP.
Carpet Installation
Carpet still makes sense in a Summerfield bedroom, and we install a lot of it. It is quieter underfoot, it is warmer on a slab in January, and it is softer if you get up during the night.
Every carpet quote we write includes the padding, the tack strip, the transitions at the doorways, and hauling the old carpet away. We do not quote a low number for carpet and then add the pad on a second line. The pad is not an upgrade. It is what makes the carpet last.
We bring the carpet samples to your house so you can see the color against your own walls, in your own light, at the time of day you actually use the room. Carpet reads completely different under showroom lighting than it does in a Florida living room at four in the afternoon.
Most bedrooms are installed in one day.
Tile Flooring
We install floor tile only — porcelain and ceramic, on the floor. Anything above the floor line is outside what we do. If that is what you need, we will tell you honestly that we are not your company.
Porcelain floor tile is the hardest, most water-resistant surface we install, and it does well on a Florida slab. It stays cool, it does not care about humidity, and a well-set tile floor outlasts everything else on this page.
Tile costs more to install than LVP or laminate, and the reason is labor, not material. Tile has to be set in mortar, cut around every door jamb and toe-kick, spaced, grouted and cleaned. It is a slower job by a wide margin. A tile floor also usually needs the slab prepped flat first, and we check that with a straightedge at the measurement.
If you are tiling a lanai in Summerfield or nearby, tell us at the visit — an outdoor slab and a covered lanai get treated differently than an interior room.
Hardwood Flooring
We install solid and engineered hardwood, either prefinished from the box or sanded and finished on site once it is down.
Hardwood is the warmest floor we install, and it is the only one you can sand and refinish years later instead of replacing. Engineered hardwood is the version that behaves better on a Florida slab, because its layered core moves less with humidity than a solid plank does.
Hardwood does not belong in a room where water can sit on the floor. A laundry room, an entry that meets an exterior door, anywhere a leak can stand overnight — that is where we steer you to waterproof vinyl plank instead, and we say so at the measurement rather than after the job.
Removal and haul-away of your old carpet, laminate or vinyl is included with hardwood, the same as every other floor on this page.
Baseboards
New baseboards go in with a new floor, and almost nobody tells you that until the floor is already down.
Here is why it matters. When the old floor comes out, the old baseboard usually comes off with it, or it gets marked up. When the new floor goes in, there is an expansion gap at the wall that has to be covered. You have two ways to cover it: put the old baseboard back and add shoe molding along the bottom, or install new, taller baseboard that covers the gap on its own and gives you a clean line.
Baseboards are quoted by the linear foot, and the number is on the same written quote as the floor. Same crew, same day, no second contractor to schedule. We haul the old baseboard away with the old floor.
Decide this before installation day, not after. It is a small line item at the quote and a headache later.
Old Floor Removal and Disposal in Summerfield, FL
Yes, we remove your old floor and haul it away, and it is already in the price. You do not rent a dumpster, you do not make a trip to the transfer station, and you do not have a pile of old carpet on your driveway for a week.
Removal of carpet, laminate and vinyl is included in the installed price on every quote we write.
Ceramic tile removal is quoted separately. That is not fine print and we are not hiding it. Breaking out and hauling ceramic tile that is mortared to a slab is heavy, slow, dusty work, and the price depends on how the tile was set. We measure it, we tell you the number at the visit, and it goes on the written quote in front of you.
Sometimes the old floor does not have to come out at all. If your existing ceramic tile is flat, solid and clean, floating vinyl plank can often be installed right over the top of it. That saves you money and a day of noise. We will tell you which way it goes when we look at it.
In-Home Measurement and Installation in Summerfield, FL
You do not have to drive anywhere to pick a floor. We bring the showroom to you.
Here is exactly how the free in-home estimate works:
You call (352) 425-6387
Or send the form, and we set a day and a time window that works for you.
We come to your house with the samples
Plank, laminate, hardwood, carpet and tile, in the colors you said you were leaning toward, plus a few close to them.
You look at them in your own light
On your own floor, next to your furniture. This is the part that changes people's minds, and it is the part a showroom cannot do.
We measure every room
Check the slab for flat and check what is under the existing floor at the transitions.
You get a written quote before we leave
Square footage, material, wear layer, removal, baseboards if you want them, and one installed price per square foot.
There is no charge for the visit and no obligation to buy anything.
When you approve the quote, we schedule the install. A single room is usually one day. A 1,500 sq ft house is typically two to three days. Add a few hours the first day if there is removal, floor prep or leveling. Our crew moves the furniture, and we clean up at the end of each day rather than leaving the house torn up overnight.
Compare Every Floor We Install
| Floor | Water resistance | Comfort underfoot | Installed cost per sq ft | Typical lifespan | Best room |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury vinyl plank | Waterproof | Warm, slight give | From $3.99 | 15–25 years | Anywhere in the house |
| Laminate | Water-resistant, not waterproof | Firm, slightly noisy | From $4.49 | 10–20 years | Bedrooms, offices, dens |
| Hardwood | Not waterproof | Warm and solid | Quoted at the measurement | Sanded and refinished, not replaced | Dry living rooms and bedrooms |
| Tile (porcelain/ceramic) | Waterproof | Hard and cool | From $7.59 | 30+ years | Entry, kitchen, lanai |
| Carpet | Not water-resistant | Softest, quietest | From $3.49 (pad included) | 8–15 years | Bedrooms |
Every price above is the installed price — material plus labor — and includes removal and haul-away of old carpet, laminate or vinyl. Ceramic tile removal is quoted separately. Your final number depends on square footage, how many rooms, how many transitions, and how flat the slab is.
Price includes material and installation, plus removal and disposal of existing carpet, laminate or vinyl. Ceramic tile removal is not included. Final price confirmed after the free in-home measurement.

What's Always Included in an MCP Flooring Quote
Every written quote we hand you in Summerfield includes:
- The measured square footage of each room, not an estimate off a floor plan
- The material by thickness in mm, wear layer in mil, and plank size in inches
- Removal and haul-away of old carpet, laminate or vinyl
- Moving your furniture
- Transitions at every doorway and to any floor we are not replacing
- Baseboards or shoe molding, if you want them, priced by the linear foot
- One installed price per square foot, and one total
And what is quoted separately, in writing, so there are no surprises: ceramic tile removal, and any slab leveling or subfloor repair we find during the measurement.
We hand you the number in writing the day we measure. A price over the phone is a guess, and a guess is how people end up with a change order.

Flooring Service Questions From Summerfield Homeowners
How much does flooring cost in Summerfield, FL?
Luxury vinyl plank starts at $3.99 per square foot installed in Summerfield, and that price already includes removing and hauling away your old carpet, laminate or vinyl. Carpet with padding starts around $3.49, laminate around $4.49, and porcelain or ceramic floor tile around $7.59. The final number depends on square footage, the number of rooms and doorways, and whether the slab needs leveling. We measure and put it in writing at no charge.
Do you remove and haul away the old floor?
Yes. Removal and disposal of old carpet, laminate and vinyl is included in the installed price on every quote we write in Summerfield. You do not rent a dumpster and you do not haul anything. Ceramic tile removal is the one exception — it is heavy, slow work and we price it separately, in writing, at the measurement.
Is laminate flooring waterproof?
No. Laminate is water-resistant, not waterproof. The 12 mm AC3 laminate we install handles a spill you wipe up, but its fiberboard core will swell if water sits on it or gets under it. If you want a floor that is genuinely waterproof, that is luxury vinyl plank or porcelain tile — and we install both.
Do you bring flooring samples to my house in Summerfield?
Yes. We bring plank, laminate, hardwood, carpet and tile samples right to your living room, so you can see the color on your own floor and in your own light. Showroom lighting makes almost every floor look different than it will look in your house. There is no charge for the visit and no obligation to buy.
Do you move the furniture?
Yes, our crew moves the furniture as part of the installation. Please clear out anything breakable, anything valuable, and the contents of closets before we arrive. Tell us at the measurement if there is a heavy piece — a gun safe, a piano, a full china hutch — so we plan for it instead of finding it on installation day.
What kinds of flooring do you install?
We install floors and baseboards, and that is all we do: luxury vinyl plank, laminate, hardwood, carpet, floor tile, baseboards, and removal of your existing floor. If a project needs work outside the floor itself, we are not the right company for it, and we say so on the first call.
How long does flooring installation take?
One room is usually a single day. A 1,500 sq ft Summerfield home is typically two to three days. Add a few hours on the first day if there is old floor to remove, or if the slab needs leveling. We give you the schedule in writing with the quote, and we clean up at the end of each day.
