How to read a floor
Three Numbers Tell You Almost Everything About a Plank
Thickness in millimeters, wear layer in mils, plank size in inches. We describe every floor the same way, so you can hold ours up against anyone’s.
Wear layer, in mil
The clear top coat that takes the scratches, measured in thousandths of an inch. A lot of big-box vinyl plank is 12 mil. The planks on sale run 20 up to 22 mil, and that is the number that decides how your floor will look fifteen years from now.
Thickness, in millimeters
Controls how solid and quiet the floor feels and how well it bridges small dips in a slab. It does not control scratch resistance. The wear layer does.
Plank size, in inches
All three sale floors are 9 inches wide and 60 inches long. Fewer seams, so an open room reads as one calm surface.

Kitchen
Spills and dishwasher leaks wipe right up. This is where waterproof matters most.
Living & dining
Wide, long planks suit open floor plans, with fewer seams across the room.
Bedrooms
Quiet underfoot and easy to keep clean.
Entry & hallways
The busiest part of the home, where a 20 up to 22 mil wear layer earns its keep.
Laundry
Waterproof vinyl plank handles the occasional overflow.
Lanai
Tile, not plank. A lanai swings too far in heat and humidity, so we quote tile there.
Damp mop, warm water. No wax and no ammonia cleaners.
Felt pads under furniture legs and a mat under rolling chairs.
Away for the summer? Keep the A/C cycling. Long stretches above 95°F with strong sun are hard on any vinyl floor.
Pets: wipe up accidents and keep nails trimmed. The floor handles the rest.

What is the difference between the three sale floors?
Thickness, wear layer, and price. The 5.5 mm is $3.99 and the 6.0 mm is $4.55 per square foot installed, both with a 20 mil wear layer. The 8.0 mm is $5.69 with a 22 mil wear layer. All three are 100% waterproof and come in 9-inch by 60-inch planks. A thicker plank feels more solid and quieter underfoot.
Is vinyl plank really waterproof?
Yes. The core does not soak up water, so a spilled drink, a pet accident, or a dishwasher leak wipes right up. Waterproof is not the same as flood-proof, though: if a room floods, the water still has to be dried out from under the floor.
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes. Vinyl plank floats, so it can often go right over old linoleum that is flat, solid, and clean. Carpet always comes out, and that removal is in the price. We tell you which applies at the measurement, not on installation day.
Will my dog scratch it?
The wear layer is what stands up to claws, dragged chairs, and walker tips. The planks on sale run 20 up to 22 mil, compared with the 12 mil you find in a lot of big-box vinyl. Keep nails trimmed and use felt pads, and the floor holds up.
How do I see the colors before I decide?

Which areas do you serve?
